'DEEz dEzynED sCulptural tchairz wourE noT mAAde foUr yU. EYE mAAde deM foUr myE MuZe sheZ baD aSS.’ Elements of reality have been twisted in this project to give furniture a new meaning and explore the theatrics of ‘out- of-the-ordinary’ objects. The chairs primarily act as frames for the fabrics, while the fabrics showcase a myriad of techniques: punched leather, woven silks and wools, beading and embroidery resulting in embellished sculptural pieces. Together, the different elements of the installation make for an alternative experience; referencing what we know and what we do not; ai Fanta-ZY wourRld.

'CC'ait cHAIZ sCulpturaL n'On PA étAI cééAIt poUr voUZ - Jje l'ais é fAit pOur moN IDole - ellE eSt sUper RocK N' RoooLL.’ Des éléments de la réalité ont été tordus dans ce projet afin de donner un sens nouveau au meubles et afin d'explorer les envolées lyriques d'objets qui sorte de l'ordinaire. Les chaises agissent principalement comme des cadres pour les tissus, tandis que les tissus présente une myriade de techniques différente: cuir perforé, soies et laines tissées, des perles et des broderies ornées, résultant en des pièces sculpturales. Ensemble, les différents éléments de l'installation vous réserve une expérience alternative; référençant ce que nous savons et ce que nous ne savons pas, un mOOnde fAntaiZ-Yque!
WakaWaka is an installation that gives insight into contemporary global nomadic culture, namely, that of belonging to no particular place, of being a mixture of races or cultures or being influenced by different cultures or races. WakaWaka is an illustrative study of a variety of cultural influences, a notion of layers and depth, an informal fantasy to lose oneself in, where abstract household objects made from textile are created with a twist on what the real objects look like. These free-forms or ‘bâstârds’ belong nowhere in particular for they are the result of a nomadic lifestyle. WakaWaka is a living space, a mix between what we know and what we do not: an old French chair upholstered with unconventional materials, an old Dutch bookcase, intricately illustrated and filled with textile objects with questionable functions. A mix of differences, a taking away and adding, an aggregate of all and everything.

Wakawaka est une installation qui donne un aperçu de la culture contemporaine nomade mondial, surtout c'elle d'appartenir à aucun endroit particulier, d'être un mélange de races ou de cultures ou d'être influencée par différentes cultures ou races. Wakawaka est une étude illustrative d'une variété d'influences culturelles, la notion de couches et de profondeur, un fantasme informel, où des objets ménagers abstrait fabriqués à partir de textiles sont créés avec une torsion sur les objets réels. Ces formes libres ou des «bâtards» appartiennent nulle part en particulier car ils sont le résultat d'un mode de vie nomade. Wakawaka est un espace de vie, un mélange entre ce que nous connaissons et ce que nous ne connaissons pas: une vieille chaise française rembourrés avec des matériaux non conventionnels, une bibliothèque ancienne néerlandaise finement illustré et rempli d'objets textiles avec des fonctions douteuses. Un mélange de différences, en prélèvement et en ajoutant, un agrégat de tout.
Each letters in these posters were cut and glued by hand; the imperfectons, blurry letters, and misalignent add character to something which would otherwise be made digitally.

Chaque lettres de ces affiches ont été coupées et collées à la main. Les imperfections, les lettres floues, et misalignent ajoute du caractère à quelque chose qui serait par ailleurs fait numériquement.
